A self-service Lock Clicks ID feature that acts as a “kill switch” for both CIMB Bank’s CIMB Clicks and CIMB Octo apps has been introduced.

Customers can now immediately freeze their online banking ID if they detect unusual or suspicious transactions or suspect that their account has been compromised.

Once the feature is activated, they will be automatically logged out of the app. They will no longer be able to log in and new outgoing transactions cannot be performed.

They will also receive a notification confirming that their Clicks ID is locked.

However, customers will still be able to use their accounts at ATMs or at CIMB Bank’s branches.

In order to unlock their online ID, users will be required to contact CIMB’s call centre and undergo the necessary verification.

CIMB advised users to change their password after unlocking their ID.
